"Now He Belongs to the Ages: The Lincoln Portrait, Matthew Brady, Benjamin Loring, the Civil War and Tioga County" This PowerPoint will discuss the upcoming exhibit of the same name and the story of how an 1861 portrait of Lincoln was painted in Matthew Brady's studio and how it came to Owego, along with Brady images and his daybook, and the uniform of a naval officer in Ford's Théâtre who helped carry Lincoln across the street to the Peterson's house in 1865.
